We live around there and we went do many times that I didn't paid attention no review before from me. The icon of Valley. The restaurant belongs to a a family, opens in 50', really good old school diner, the food is tasty, fresh and perfect for your family's brunch. We brought many friends there. Wonderful price, even the renewal they had last year. Locals all the time there. You will feel as you are in your friend's kitchen.
CASH ONLY. As soon as they set the food down, I knew it was going to be a great meal based on the quality of the food and how great it looked. Heart's is a small diner located just west of Van Nuys in the heart of the valley. I would say it's the classic retro diner and has that classic LA look on the inside. They have a lot of different seating options, both booth and counter and a giant bustling kitchen. There is a parking lot with free parking attached with plenty of spaces. Also, our server was very polite and all the food items came out very quickly. They also did a great job with the drink refills and checking in on us often. They have a fairly large menu filled with all sorts of diner classics. Based on a lot of other reviews, I wanted to try their Country Fried Steak, and I am very happy that I did so. The white gravy on top was truly delicious and obviously homemade, the steak itself was cooked perfectly, and not too crispy, and their homemade butter really was delicious and added to the flavors. I honestly enjoyed every bite and was impressed at the cost and quality. It is important to note that it is cash only but they do accept Zelle and also have a ATM inside. The valley is full of amazing diners and I would consider Heart's to be one of them. It's truly a great breakfast option and I would recommend to anyone. I drove up from West LA specifically for it and I'm happy that I did so.
Amazing neighborhood diner with the sweetest people running this shop. They remember all the regulars' names. The food is everything you would want for that comfort breakfast experience. The place isn't big so early bird gets the work here. Everything I've tried so far is just on point. But the highlights for me are the pancakes, they're fluffy with a slight chewy texture which is just how I like them. Also the country fried steak with the white gravy is a must try.

Great food, affordable prices and at the same time nails that old school diner feel. It's remarkable how many locals frequent Heart's Coffee Shop, and I'm certainly going to be coming more often as well. It's small and family owned but with plenty of parking, and the service is great. What stands out to me is how the food isn't greasy like many other diners I've been to, and the portions are big. I would highly recommend checking them out!
Been twice since they re-opened and both times had to sit in what my husband and I have coined the cave. I hope to get a table by the window on a future visit. No frills but good food, simple breakfast menu with friendly service and a real community vibe inside. Remember cash only.
They're back baby!! And we couldn't be happier for the family!!! Oh my gosh I absolutely love this spot So glad they got their roof fixed, because this place was dearly missed. Heart's is everything you want in a diner, friendly, warm, and Excellent food. Plus, they're so incredibly reasonable in pricing, it just makes sense. They are cash only, so be prepared for that but I'm honestly shocked I haven't seen this place filmed more often, because it is such a classic diner with the long sit down counter. This place is perfect for a hearty meal, a friendly lunch, or for just hitting that craving of classic diner food! Enjoy it and don't forget to bring cash!
So nice to have them back! Great comfort food and still a great value. The Family is as welcoming as ever, and the food just makes you smile! I have been coming here since the early 80's with my older brother. Good to see little has changed- BTW STILL CASH ONLY
